Silence is where a person sits in silence, often meditating or praying. Affirmations entail people vocally telling themselves positive things like they are smart, they are good enough, they can accomplish their goals, etc. Visualization involves imagining what goals a person has, what it will look like to reach that goal, and picturing the processes that will lead to the desired end. Exercise involves physical exertion, where people actively work to increase their heart rate and improve physical fitness. Reading includes spending time absorbing the knowledge in self-help books. And, scribing is the act of keeping a diary or journal. By practicing each of the six exercises, people can effectively change their lives for the better.

Elrod explains that ninety-five percent of people struggle their entire lives because they fail to work on personal development, fail to start their day off right, and fail to choose to live differently.

In order to have a successful life, people need to determine today that they will commit to changing their life and acknowledge that now is of primary importance.
