Satan’s Diary

What would happen if Satan came to earth in human form in order to lure helpless innocents to do his bidding — and found himself outdone at every turn by the inherent greed and depravity of humankind? That's the deliciously dark premise at the heart of Russian writer Leonid Andreyev's brilliant satire Satan's Diary. It's an engaging and surprisingly thought-provoking read that's well worth your time.

INTERESTING enough but quite random unless you acknowledge a few educational insights as well as somewhat political ones

Betrayal is IMPACTFUL when considerable loyalty is due

Disappointment is a pleasure pain or sacrifice revenue issue

Traitor has a suggestion of importance

Treacherous has a grave connotation something you would expect from a wretched individual

There is not the foul smell of a goat about me but the fragrance of perfume, and you need not fear to shake My hand lest I may scratch you with my nails: I manicure them just as you do.

But don’t you personally believe that he who will give man limitless freedom will also bring him death? Death alone releases all earthly ties. And don’t you regard the words ‘freedom’ and ‘death’ as synonymous?”

Hateful to me is the gentle murmur of false strings beneath the fingers of liars and scoundrels.
