Jane Austen

Pride And Prejudice

Pride and Prejudice may today be one of Jane Austen’s most enduring novels, having been widely adapted to stage, screen, and other media since its publication in 1813. The novel tells the tale of five unmarried sisters and how their lives change when a wealthy eligible bachelor moves in to their neighborhood.
This edition removes Austen’s habitual and archaic use of period-dashes to make the reading smoother for modern readers.

This is one of my favourite novels, which either I had read in Russian and had watched a latest movie (Of course with favourite actors namely Colin Firth and Kira Nightly)! Moreover, being pretty fond of the style of Jane Austen, I can declare that it was amusement for experiencing my first reading in English particularly this novel.

I am not really a fan of J. Austen but I liked this novel very much! Starting from the middle approximately it got really interesting and exciting. I just could not stop till I reached the end. The novel is just perfect!

A lady's imagination is very rapid; it jumps from admiration to love, from love to matrimony, in a moment.

person may be proud without being vain. Pride relates more to our opinion of ourselves, vanity to what we would have others think of us.”
