Brett Garcia Rose

Brett Garcia Rose is an American software entrepreneur, former animal rights investigator, activist, and fiction writer. He authored one published novel and numerous short stories.

Brett Garcia Rose holds a degree in Journalism and Creative Writing from Northeastern University. He began as a freelance journalist in local media in Boston and New York.

Brett also worked as an investigator for various organizations in the Animal Rights and Environmental movements. He later pursued further studies at Columbia University in New York City.

Brett's entrepreneurial journey began with the founding of Concept-Tel, a company dedicated to inventing and producing software for the global telecommunications industry. Despite its inherent challenges, he finds the venture both unstable and rewarding. In addition to his business pursuits, Brett has explored his interests as a meditation teacher, martial arts instructor, and occasional drummer at local Irish pubs.

As a writer, Brett has seen his fiction published in various literary and consumer publications, including Newsday Magazine, New York Press, Rose and Thorn, Opium, Withersin, Spectrum Magazine, Susurrus, Lit Up, and others. His work has garnered recognition, with nominations for the Million Writers Award and as a finalist for Opium's Bookmark Competition, although he has yet to secure a win.

His first novel, Noise (2016), is about a deaf man trying to find his sister in the concrete jungle of New York. He also published a collection of short fiction stories in a book called Losing Found Things.

Brett's taste in literature tends to lean towards the more widely appreciated authors. He values the works of Andrew Vachss, Chuck Palahniuk, Jonathan Franzen, Annie Dillard, Don DeLillo, and Cormac McCarthy, among others.
