Liza Goddard

Liza Goddard was born in Smethwick in 1950. An early appearance in Jesus of Nazareth as a child fuelled her desire to become an actress and when the family moved to Australia, Liza began to get roles in the theatre in Sydney. She was then cast in the children’s television series Skippy the Bush Kangaroo and her career really took off. Returning to the UK as an adult, Liza went on to become one of Britain’s best loved actresses, appearing in some of the most iconic series on TV, including Take Three Girls, Take Three Women, Pig in the Middle, The Brothers, Bergerac, Dr Who and Midsomer Murders. She has worked many times with Alan Ayckbourn, who is surely Britain's greatest living playwright, and her many career highlights include working with Richard Burton in Wagner and David Jason in No Sex Please - We're British! Liza also has an ongoing passion for the theatre and loves appearing in pantomime. Throughout her long career, she has hardly ever been out of work. Liza has been married to actor Colin Baker, who is possibly best known for his role as Dr Who, and later to 70’s pop legend Alvin Stardust. More recently, she fought and beat breast cancer. Liza lives in Norfolk with her husband, producer David Cobham, and an assortment of animals. She has two grown-up children, Thom and Sophie and two grandchildren, Oscar and Adelaide. Derek Clements: Derek Clements enjoyed a successful career as a journalist before leaving the profession in 2008 to write books. Derek has worked for many of the country’s leading newspapers, including 12 years with The Sunday Times. Since making the decision to leave journalism, Derek has worked on several exciting projects, including ghostwriting ‘The Half a Million Pound Girl’ with Sarah Burge. Derek was born in Glasgow but now lives in Suffolk with his wife, Annmarie. He has one grown-up son.
