Cindy Hval

Cindy Hval is columnist and correspondent for the Spokesman Review newspaper in Spokane, Washington. Her “Front Port” column offers humorous, often poignant commentary about life, love and raising sons—not necessarily in that order.

In addition, her stories have been published in numerous anthologies and magazines.

Cindy’s father served 24 years in the Air Force—a career that spanned World War II, Korean and Vietnam Wars. Her husband served 23 years as a pilot in the Washington Army National Guard.

Her admiration and respect for the men and women, who not only served their country during World War II, but forged marriages that spanned more than six decades led her to write War Bonds: Love Stories from the Greatest Generation.
