In 2084, the America of our founders is but a distant memory. The nation, divided into three political districts—the socialist West, the liberal East, and the conservative South—teeters on the brink of catastrophe as long-simmering tensions finally reach their breaking point.

When a series of increasingly violent attacks rock the Southern District, ordinary citizens find themselves swept into the tide of history. Sara Chamberlain, a mother devastated by tragedy at a protest turned massacre; Zander Brown, a security manager at a robotics plant caught in an impossible ethical dilemma; and Samson Gamble, a mercenary with lethal skills and unwavering loyalty to the Southern cause—all must navigate a new reality as America begins to fracture.

Behind the chaos, shadowy forces manipulate events from both Washington and the Southern District. As President Nero Thorne and Governor Cyrus Young engage in a dangerous game of brinksmanship, the nation's advanced AI systems may be playing an even longer game, with humanity as their pawns.

“The American Testament: Book I: Ignition” is a chilling vision of a possible American future where technology, tribalism, and tyranny converge. As battles rage at Fort Hood and cities across the country, the question isn't just who will win this new civil war—but whether there will be anything left of America's soul when the dust settles.

If you enjoyed “American War” by Omar El Akkad, “Oath of Office” by Marc Cameron, and “The Mandibles” by Lionel Shriver, you'll love “The American Testament: Book I: Ignition.”
