Tomás Moscardó

Tomás Moscardó is a Spanish writer known for his crime novels. Born in Murcia, he has lived in Palma de Mallorca since childhood. He is the founder of two sports magazines, Webesport and Basquetbalear. From a young age, he shared his father's interest in reading the western novels of Marcial Lafuente Estefanía. His early reads included Un Yankee en la corte del rey Arturo and Rebeldes, but Morgan Robertson's Futilidad had the most significant impact on him.

Tomás Moscardó is a fan of the Star Wars and Harry Potter franchises, with a particular interest in the detailed worlds created by JK Rowling. Inspired by these, he began writing his fiction. Guided by his favourite phrase, 'hakuna matata', Moscardó ventured into writing, resulting in his debut novel, 3MGH Mireia Desaparecida (2022, Spanish edition).

3MGH Mireia Desaparecida is a crime novel set in Mallorca. It follows Civil Guard Sergeant Antonia Borrás as she investigates the disappearance of Mireia, a teenager on a study trip. Initially thought to be a possible case of sexual assault, the investigation soon leads to a more complex situation involving hackers, drug cartels and contract killers. Antonia has 48 hours to solve the case, using Ockham's razor to guide her decisions in a world where appearances are deceptive, and no one is above suspicion.

The novel presents Mallorca as a tourist destination and a backdrop for organised crime. Through the character of Antonia Borrás, Moscardó moves away from the traditional male detective and presents a female investigator who is tenacious and astute in her search for the truth.
