The School App Pileup is for parents who are managing notifications, messages, and deadlines across several school platforms at once and who feel that keeping up with all of it has become a part-time obligation. The book addresses that feeling directly, not by reducing the number of platforms a school chooses to use, but by giving parents a practical method for deciding what to pay attention to, when, and how.

The opening sections walk readers through an honest inventory of every communication channel already in their lives, from district portals and school apps to team schedulers and paper forms. Rather than asking parents to fix anything immediately, the audit is framed as a moment of observation, a way of seeing the full picture before making any changes.

From there, the book moves into the mechanics of routing. It covers how to use email filters, labels, and forwarding rules to consolidate incoming messages, and how to work through the notification settings each app actually offers. The approach is deliberate: each channel gets ranked by the kind of information it carries, and settings are adjusted to match that ranking rather than default to whatever the app assumes.

Capturing deadlines is treated as its own discipline. The book introduces a single running list as the central tool, explains a paperwork workflow for handling permission slips and portal forms before they slip past their due dates, and outlines a short weekly review routine to keep the system current. There is also a section on recovering when something does get missed, since the school year changes around any system.

The final chapters address sharing the system with a partner or older child, adapting it as the school year shifts, and two appendices: a set of sample notification routing rules and a deadline capture sheet template.
