Sidsel Katrine Slej

Sidsel Katrine Slej is a Danish author who writes fantasy books for children and young people inspired by folklore and Nordic myths. She is best known for the Sanddreamer series.

Sidsel Katrine Slej holds a master's degree in history and multimedia from Aarhus University.

Her debut novel, Sanddrømmeren, came out in 2013 and was critically acclaimed. Following its success, she released Runemagigeren (2015) and Valkyrien (2016), completing the trilogy known as the Sanddreamer series.

Since then, she has authored five additional children's books, all part of the enchanting series titled Magical Creatures in Denmark. These books delve into folklore, exploring the intriguing creatures believed to inhabit the natural world.

The main characters in these tales are two brave sisters named Ingrid and Dagmar, who are 8 and 6 years old, respectively. The books with reading difficulty level 12 (lix 12) are intended for children from about second grade onward.

She works now as a freelance graphic designer and writer, utilizing her creative skills in both fields.

Sidsel Katrine Slej resides in Aarhus with her husband and two young daughters.
