Weeshie Fogarty

Weeshie Fogarty, born in 1941, grew up on Lower New Street, Killarney. After thirty-eight years as a psychiatric nurse in St Finan’s Hospital, Killarney, he became a sports broadcaster and analyst with Radio Kerry and writer for The Kerryman. He won several awards over the years: four McNamee Awards; the prestigious National PPI Radio Award for his programme, Terrace Talk, in 2008; and in 2010 he won the National PPI Radio Award as National Sports Broadcaster of the Year.
