Falguni Kothari

Falguni Kothari is a bestselling Indian author of romantic women's fiction and fantasy tales that are a “good choice for women’s fiction book groups.”

Falguni Kothari was born and raised in Mumbai, India. One of Falguni's most cherished memories revolves around her grandmother and the maalishwaalibai (her grandmother's masseuse), who often regaled her with tales of her Gujarati heritage and the mythical wonders of India.

These stories left an indelible mark on Falguni. Now, she is immersed in the world of writing (thanks to a gentle nudge from her mother), and she aspires to share the kind of tales that endure for eternity.

After marrying at a young age and starting a family, her life took a significant turn when her family relocated to New York in the spring of 2001.

Her novels are all flavored by her South Asian heritage and ex-pat experiences and delve into unconventional themes of marriage, romance, friendship, family, and parenthood. Through her writing, Falguni seeks to celebrate the timeless stories of remarkable women who defied societal boundaries and left an enduring legacy.

Her books have been reviewed and praised in many podcasts and publications, including the New York Times Book Review, starred reviews in Booklist and Shelf Awareness, Popsugar, Woman’s World magazine, and The Times of India.

Her essays and short stories have been published in Femina (India), Better Homes and Gardens, Book Riot, and Writer’s Digest.

She is also an award-winning Indian Classical, Latin, and Ballroom dancer.

Falguni Kothari resides in New York.
