Following years of abuse then being left alone after my mother left my dad and then my dad moving away I decided to write poems to fill the emptiness and to write my feelings down even though I began writing a few poems when I was fifteen.
Just like most young wishful girls I knew I had a talent for writing poems. I was informed by a school teacher that I should try to get my poems published. Later I found that I got bored with it then friends, school, work, dances got in the way. I put my poems on hold for a long time. Then I had children and that started me to want to write again. But I still was not all that serious about it. Then after quite a few years I surrendered my life to Jesus even though I was saved when I was twelve. It was at this time that the poems came flowing; the Lord gave me these words.
I have since had poems published in Our Twentieth Century’s Greatest Poems…Creation is, Famous Poets of the Heartland…The Lord is My Shepherd, International Who’s Who in Poetry…The Forest, Stars in Our Hearts…We’re Walking Among Angels, Best Poets and Poems of 2012…Flame of Love. I have also published my first book Remembering When in 2012 as well.
