When sudden freezing temperatures threaten a catastrophe that will affect the entire world, geophysicist Alex Cave is called in to investigate the situation. He leads a small group of volunteers on the high-tech research vessel named Mystic in a desperate attempt to remedy the situation before civilization faces ecological disaster, but some of the crew have their own plan, which doesn’t include him.
